MASONIC BALL
PAPATOETOE GATHERING The annual ladies' evening arranged hv the Papatoetoe Masonic Lodge was held in the Public Hall, Papatoetoe, on Thursday night. The hall was decorated with flags and bunting draped from the ceiling, while the walls were screened with sprays of wattle, foliage and (loners blending in colourful effect. The special lighting arrangements enhanced the setting for the large gathering of members and visitors. A striking effect was presented in the grand march, which was led by Mr. L. Wilkinson and Mrs. E. D. Wilkinson. In the absence of the worshipful master, Mr. E. D. Wilkinson, a welcome was extended to visitors by Mr. P. Edinond. Mr. Edmond and Mr. J. M. Key directed the dance programme. During the evening songs were rendered by Mr. L. Stuart and elocutionary items by M iss 11. Kirkbride. A bouquet was presented to Mrs. E. D. Wilkinson. Stewart, floral georgette; Mrs. It. Howard, blue marocain; Mrs. N. Bow. black angelskin lace; Mrs. W. Campbell, cherry suede; Mrs. R. G. Ross, screen satin and silver lame; Mrs. It. Griffiths, ivory corded crepe; Mrs. R. J. McCausland, maroon ring velvet; Mrs. Henderson, rose marocain; Mrs. T. Vallance, eau de nil craquelle; Mrs. A. J. Moody, beige marocain; Miss E.
