WAITEMATA BOWLERS
CLUB'S ANNUAL DANCE The annual dance under the auspices of the Waitemata Bowling and Croquet Club, held on Thursday evening in the King's Theatre at iSorthcote, was very successful, being largely attended and very enjoyable. The hall was attractively decorated with ferns, coloured streamers and balloons, and suspended overhead sveru representations of a bowling green and a croquet lawn, with play in full progress. Tho gathering was welcomed by the president, Mr. M. J. Walsh. The vicepresident,, Mr. Li. B. Cli inn cry, and Airs. Chinnery, the latter wearing a frock of mulberry satin beaute, olticiated as host and hostess. The ladies' committee comprised members of the croquet club, viz., Mrs. W. K. A. Stewart, president, who wore a t'rock of black ring velvet, with amethyst velvet wrap; Mrs. J. A. Robertson, secretary, in green embossed velvet; Mrs. E. G. Baiiev, black lace and georgette; Mrs. \Y. Rackett, sea green chiffon; Mrs. M. Bowles, black ring velvet and white wrap; Mrs. C. Rose, black figured satin and flat velvet coatee; Mrs. W. P. Roberts, turquoise blue lace; Mrs. E. C. Davey, black georgette and Oriental wrap; Mrs. A. S. Davidson, emerald lace; Mrs. A. J. Grant, ivory chenille '.civet; Mrs. R. G Holland, royal blue satin beaute. The committee of bowlers who organised the function consisted of Messrs G. B. Chinnery (.chairman), M. J. Walsh, R. G. Holland, J. Williamson, L. O. Xarbutt, S. Osborne, W. Copeland, J. Brennnn, E. W. B. Herrick, \V. P. Roberts, G. Sampson and W. Marshall. The floor arrangements were in charge of Mr. E. W. B. Heirick. The music was played by a good orchestra under Mr. \Y. Mayall.
