YESTERDAY'S BUSINESS FIRM MARKET REPORTED (Received July 26, 8.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 26 On the Sydney Stock Exchange today the strong conditions in the investment market were reflected in numerous moderate-price gains over a wide range of industrial issues. Bank shares continued firm, although transactions were restricted. Commonwealth bonds were very quiet. This morning's sales included:—Commonwealth -1 per cent bonds, 1938, £lo3* lis 3d; 1941, £lO3 7s Gd; 1955, £lO4 15s; 1959. £lO5. July 25 Fine gold is quoted to-day at £7 0s 9d an oz., compared with £7 0s Gd yesterday. Silver Is quoted at 30 3-16 d an oz. spot and 30 5-16 d forward, compared with 30 3-16 d and 30.1(1 on July 18. The quotation for silver at per fine ounce is 32 9-16 d, same as yesterday.
