COURT OF CONVOCATION
AUCKLAND UNIVERSITY BODY PLANS FOR STRENGTHENING t A movement is on foot to establish the Court of Convocation of the Auckland University College on a basis which will enable it to take a more definite part in the life of the college and of the community. The Court of Convocation consists of graduates of the University of New Zealand resident in the Auckland district, and it has the power of electing four representatives to the College Council. A meeting of the court will be held at the college on the evening of August 5. when addresses will be given by Professor H. G. Forder and Professor J. Rutherford on the functioning of similar bodies in the ancient and provincial universities of England. Proposals will be put forward that steps be taken to provide the court with sufficient funds to cover expenses incidental to the running of the court, and that legislation be effected to permit the court to charge a fee for membership.
