BROADCASTING HOURS.

LONGER BREAKFAST SESSION EXTENSION OF HALF AN HOUR The breakfast session at the national YA broadcasting stations is to be extended by half an hour, commencing on August 1. The session will commence at 7 o'clock, as at present, but will continue until 9 o'clock. The stations will then be off the air until 10 o'clock, when the morning session commences. The extension of the breakfast session is being instituted to enable dairy farmers to hear portion of the session, as there has been an insistent demand from farmers for some time for increasing the duration of the session. A breakfast session of an hour was introduced in December, 1933, and was increased by half an hour in March last year. The further increase to be brought into effect will mean that IYA and the other national stations will be on the air for nearly 100 hours a week, compared with 60 two years ago, and about 40 less than three years ago.
