NATIONAL ROSE SOCIETY

ELECTION OF OFFICERS Appreciation of the interest shown by a large section of the Auckland public in the rose garden at Parnell Park was expressed at the annual meeting of the National Rose Society of New Zealand, held on Wednesday evening. Special mention was made of the valuable services rendered by the retiring honorary secretary, Mr. F. Penn, and the retiring chairman, Mr. N. R. W. Thomas.

The election of officers resulted:President, Bishop Anderson; vice-presi-dents. Mesdames E. H. B. Milsom and R M. Algie; hon. secretary and treasurer. Mr. S. R. Bird; executive, Messrs. F. Penn (chairman). G. Fillmore, G. Green, S. Wiltshire, H. J. Cutler, N. Cutler, N. R. W. Thomas, B. Smith, J. Hunter and J. W. Keaiv nnd a representative from the Lyceum Club; representatives on the Auckland Horticultural Society, Messrs. G. Fillmore and S. R. Bird.
