"THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE CONDITION'S LESS ACTIVE - Conditions were less active on the " 'Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, but a firm t-one was maintained in most " sections. Government loans had unchanged "* 6U pport. Business was confined to the 1949 4 P er stock, which was dealt 1: in 5s higher.at £lO9 10s. _ There was a sharp fall in levels for ?•'- Bank of New Zealands, offers being 6d »>' lover at 51s, and quotations dropping »; fcv sd. Nationals of New Zealand also '/ were weaker. A parcel of Commercials r kujis:ed hands Id higher at lfis lOd, awl Reserve Banks were done 3d higher "■ at £6 9s 3d. The insurance group was ' s qu:iet, with a steady inquiry. Among the industrials, Auckland Gas appreciated and a sale took place at 2"<t Bd. a rise of sd. Taupiri Coal were released Id dearer at 16s 7d, arid Consolidated Brick at 10s 7d, also a rise of Id. Tooth's Breweries were secured 6d lower at 54s 9d, there being easier inquiry. New Zealand Breweries were .available 3d lower at 54s 6d, but no business was done. Other New Zealand changed hands at current rates.
