Weir. The scheme is to make levies on one product to provide a bonus for another. When butter is above the world market producers shipping to creamI cries will be taxed to provide a bonus for shippers to cheese factories. DUTCH BANK RATE REDUCTION ANNOUNCED „ AMSTERDAM, June 26 The bank rate has been reduced to 4 per cent. A cablegram from Amsterdam on April 10 stated: —The Netherlands Bank has lost £15,000,000 worth of gold in the past few days in its attempt to defend the guilder against speculators. It has fixed the bank rate at 4} per cent. GOLD AND SILVER QUOTATIONS IN LONDON {Received June 27. 7.35 p.m.) i LONDON, June 2(5 Sine gold is quoted .to-day at £7 Is 2d an ounce, compared with £7 Is Oid yesterday. Silver is quoted at 31d an ounce spot,, and 301 d forward, compared with 31jd and 31j|d on June 24. The quotation for silver at per fine ounce is 33 7-16 d, compared with 33id yesterday. REAL ESTATE BUSINESS The following sales of property were reported at the monthly meeting of the committee of the Real Estate Institute: —St. Holiers Bay, six sections and one dwelling; Mount Eden, ono dwelling, £1150; Onehunga, Kingsland, Morningside and Ellerslie, four dwellings; Epsom, one section in an estate. The following sales of farm lands also were reported:—Manurewa, 100-acre farm; Takanini, highly improved 100-acre farm.
