CHINESE WARSHIPS
PRESENCE AT HONGKONG "NO AFFRONT INTENDED" (Received June 24. 6.35 p.m.) HONGKONG. June 24 Admiral Chen, vice-Minister of the Navy, who is on board the cruiser Ninghai, states that the presence oi the Northern Squadron warships at Hongkong is purely to eftect the snfe transfer of rebels. No affront to Canton is intended.
