MISSION IN JAPAN
A meeting of the council of the Central Japan T'ioneer Mission, an evangelical movement working in the districts around Maehashi, Japan, was held in the Farmers' Trading Company's buildings yesterday afternoon. Mr. R. A. Laidlaw presided and others present were Mr. R. L. Stewart, the Bev. A. S. Wilson and Mesdames Jnmes Flnrerenves, S. T. Pajie and J. P. Carlsen and Miss F. X. Hewitt, the Dominion treasurer. Miss Hewitt reported that £'loo fis had been sent to Japan during 193-1, while £'42 Ms 6d had nlreadv been received as part of the l!).'i r , donation, as well as additional sums remitted straight to the mission field. A vote of thanks was passed to Mrs. Hnrgrenvos, who had held the monthly prayer meeting at her home for the past three years. The Rev. A. S. Wilson was elected chairman, Mr. Laidlaw having resigned owing to pressuro of other duties. Mr. Laidlaw will remain on the council. Miss Hewitt was reappointed secretary and treasurer.
