YOUNG MAGICIAN
A BRIGHT ENTERTAINMENT A bright and varied entertainment was given by " Jadoo," a young magician who is already well-known in Auckland, and assisting artists, in the Scots Hall last night. Audiences always take a keen delight in being mystified, and opportunities to see magic are all too rare nowadays. "Jadoo's" ability to produce objects at will from the most unexpected places kept the audience continuously amused, while his tricks; with multi-coloured handkerchiefs were particularly effective. One of the most mystifying experiences was the Indian needle trick in which, chewing together some needles and cotton in his mouth, he apparently succeeded ill dexterously threading each needle. In the realm of sleight of hand, "Alamat" gave some amazing card trick:;, causing the cards to fall in exactly the way he desired. Miss Patricia Andrews assisted charmingly in several nets. In his usual droll style, Mr. Dan Flood provided amusement at the piano in a number of character sketches, and additional entertainment was provided j by Miss Mavis Ward in some clever dancing numbers. | The entertainment will be repeated | this evening.
