PALMER BEATS LE GANS REFEREE STOPS CONTEST SYDNEY. June 20 * At the Leichhardt Stadium last evening, in a 15 rounds boxing bout, Ambrose Palmer (Australian heavy-weight champion), 12.4, obtained a technical knock-out decision over Roy le Gans '(America), 12.6. The loser was outclassed, and took severe punishment. The referee stopped the contest in the seventh round. «
