DAIRY PAYMENTS
BAY OF ISLANDS RATE INCREASE OF TWOPENCE HIGHEST SINCE 1933 An advance payment of 10£ d per lb. for butter-fat received airing June has been fixed by the Bay of Islands Co-operative Dairy Company,"" Limited. The advance last month was Sjd per lb. The advance of lOjd per lb. is equal to a London price of about 90s per cwt, and, as far as can be ascertained, is the highest paid in the Auckland Province since September, 1933. The output of the company for the year ended May 31 increased by £2* tons, equal to 6.87 per cent.
KAIPARA PAY-OUT BOXCS FOR NOVEMBER The Kaipara Co-operative Dairy Factory Company. Limited, is advancing 9d per lb. for finest cream supplied in May, and is also paying a further Id per lb. on November cream, making the advance for that month 9d per lb. OPOTIKI ASSOCIATION MAY ADVANCE UNCHANGED [BY TELIGEAPH;—OWX CORRESPONDENT] OPOTIKI, TCeanesday The Opotiki Dairy Association will pay out 9d per lb. batter-fat to-morrow for May supply. This is the same payment as in 1934 for May i;upply. TE AROHA-THAKES VALLEY BONUS DISTRIBUTIONS SPREAD [from ors otx correspondent] TE ABOHA, Wednesday The pay-out of the Te Aroha-Thames Valley Co-operative Dairy Company in respect of May supply was 9jd per lb. at the gate. » . An alteration in the system of the annual bonus payments has also .been decided upon, with a view to assisting suppliers over the lean months of June and July. In these months it has beeu found that while the current butterfat returns are small, the supplier is generally faced with heavy expenditure in preparing for the coming season. Bonus payments will, therefore, in future, be spread over the months of June, July and August, to offset the lower current returns generally ruling over this period. The average monthly pay-out by the company to date has been 8.699 d per lb. for superfine. " BITTER REMAINS FIRM NEW ZEALAND 87/- TO 88/BETTER DEMAND FOR CHEESE The London market for New Zealand butter remains firm at 87s to SSs per cwt. There is better demand for cheese at 44s 6d per cwt. Forward sales of butter have been | made in Auckland at 10 13-16 d per ; lb., f.0.b., a rise of 1-Hsd, and equal : to slightly over 92s per cwt. in London. BRITISH EXCHEQUER LATEST WEEKLY RETURNS British "tireless RUGBY, June 18 The Exchequer returns show that the total ordinary revenue to date, exclusive of self-balancing items, amounts to £109.913,827, as compared with £110,113.596 at the corresponding date !of last year. The total ordinary er- | penditure, exclusive of Belf-halancing items, for the current to date is £164,384,336, against £161.130,695 at the corresponding date of 1934. GOLD AND SILVER QUOTATIONS IN LONDON (Received June 1.9, ''.35 p.a.) LOirDOX, June 18 Fine gold is quoted to-dav at £7 Is 2d an oz., same as yesterday. Silver is quoted at 32 11-I6d an oz. spot, and 32 15-16 d forward, • compared with 32jd and 32id yesterday. The quotation for silver at per fine ounce is 35 5-16 d, compared with 35 3-16 d yesterday.
