TO REMOVE SHINE

Suits and costumes of blue serge that have become shiny with hard wear may be improved with the following treatment. First brush them well and then sponge the shiny parts with hot water and vinegar in equal proportion. If this does not remove the glaze, let the surface dry and then rub it lightly with fine emery paper. Brush off the dust, lay a damp cloth over the serge, and press it well with a hot iron.
