NEW GERMAN ARMY
RECRUITS CALLED UP / ENTHUSIASM IN COUNTRY BERLIN, June 17 The first 350,000 recruits under the German conscription law, all being men who were born in 1914, reported for medical examination to-day. An equal number born in 1915 will be medically examined later for labour service, which they must undergo prior to joining the Army. The recruits are cheerful and enthusiastic. A high percentage are reported to be in the best physical condition.
The birth of the new army is raising / enthusiasm throughout the country, and thousands of youths are volunteering for service.
