OVERSEAS LEAGUE TALK
IMPRESSIONS OF AMERICA Some impressions gained during a recent visit to America were given by Mrs. Daisy Basham at tho monthly luncheon talk at tho Overseas League yesterday. Mr. E. C. Duncan presided. In discussing her visit, Mrs. Basham said she was impressed by tho wonderful hospitality.of the American people. She had only to say sho came from New Zealand, to be deluged with offers of entertainment. A vivid and entertaining description of the quaint streets in Los Angeles, and of a visit to somo of the cafes, was given by the speaker, who was impressed by the excellence of the cooking. . . In Hollywood, a visit was paid to a cafe run by wealthy people for members of the film colony out of positions. Attached to this cafe was a creche and a kindergarten, and each day a prominent film star acted as hostess.
