TRANSPORT BOARD POLL

INQUIRY INTO DELAYS The proposal to seek an amendment of tho Transport Board Act to brint; the system of electing; the Auckland Transport Board into lino with that of other local authorities was mentioned at a meeting of the board yesterday. In moving that tho matter should bo deferred, Mr. J. A. C. Allum suggested that a report should bo provided b.v the secretary. Mr. W. St. J. Clarke, who, if necessary, should confer with the board's solicitor. He hoped that a more satisfactory system would be provided in tho future. The chairman, Mr. H. G. R. Mason. M.P., said the delays and troubles over tho recent election were now well known, and it was proposed that the secretary should report on those troubles. The board would then have material to assist it in its discussions on the problem. i Tho question was deferred for a month.
