SEQUEL TO ACCIDENT
MOTOR SALESMAN FINED NEGLIGENT DRIVING CHARGE [from ora OTX COEKESPOKDEXTn HAMILTON, Monday A fine of £5 -was imposed on Stanley Hinton Paul], motor salesman, in the Police Court at Hamilton to-day for driving a car in a negligent manner. The case arose out of a collision between defendant's car and a car driven by Ernest Henry Gray, hotelkeeper, Rahotu, who evidence in which he said that Paull had admitted after the accident that he was at fault. Nothing had been said by Paull to indicate that the car was defective. Defendant said that the accident was caused by a tie-rod becoming disconnected. He did not say anything about it at the time, because he did not want to damage the reputation of the car.
