RACES AT ELLERSLIE

WINTRY CONDITIONS FURS AND TWEEDS Wintry conditions prevailed on Saturday, the final day of the Auckland Racing Club's Great Northern Steeplechase Meeting at Ellerslie. Tweed suits and ensembles', heavy fur-trimmed coats and fur coats were worn extensively, and were exceedingly smart with berets and hats in matching materials. The everpopular black tailored suits were much in evidence, accompanied in many cases bv handsome silver fox furs.

Among those present were:—The Lady Evelyn Drununond, who wore a brown checked tweed ensemble and felt hat to tone; Lady Sinclair-Lockhart, brown fur-trimmed ensemble and a brown straw hat swathed with a feather mount; Lady Allen (Morrinsville), brown and beige checked tweed suit with sable furs and a brown felt hat; Lady Burdett, navy blue ensemble and navy hat; Mrs. M. M. McCallum, palnta violet frock under a sealskin coat and a small black hat; Mrs. Eric Nolan, navy tweed coat with. seal collar and navy felt hat; Mrs. L. C. Rathbone, tcrra-cotta cloth suit and velour hat to tone; Mrs. McGregor Grant, Burgundy tweed ensemble and Burgundy velour hat; Mrs. E. H. B. Jubilee blue cloth suit with grey fox collar and a blue felt hat to match. Mrs. Harry Horroeks wore a Marina green light-weight tweed suit and a stitched green hat to match; Mrs. R. D.
