NORTH AUCKLAND
Mrs. Carolan, Knitaia, has returned from an extended holiday in the South. Miss Adamson, Kaitaia, has returned from a holiday in Auckland.
Under the organisation of the Kaitaia Basketball Club and the Mangonui Rugby Union, a dance was held in the A. and P. Hall, Kaitaia, last week. 111 spite, of bad weather there was a large attendance. Mr. W. Flinn controlled the floor arrangements and j\lr. Hon Hoskin won the competition. Mr. and Mrs. T. Grade, who have been teaching at the Pukcpoto School for the past 11 years, and who have been transferred to the Whirinaki School, were farewelled by a large number of Pukcpoto residents and friends in the Parana Hall. The evening took the form of a social, items being supplied by the residents. Various speakers representing the assembly wished Mr. aud Mrs. Gracie every success and made presentations. The school children also made presentations to their departing teachers.
