SAPLING STAKES CONTEST VICTORY FOR FRISCO LADY IRAQ'S COUNTY HANDICAP
[BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION'] ASHBURTON, Saturday. The Ashburton Trotting Club's Winter Meeting was held on-day in cold fine weather and attracted a very larce attendance. The course was in cood order. The totalisator handled £14,036 10s, against £10,866 last year. The New Zealand Sapling Stakes, the two-year-old classic, was won bv the second favourite, Frisco Lady. In presenting the ribbon to Messrs. Augustbrothers, owners of the winner, the president of the club, Mr. H. F. Nicoll, said the club was considering increasing the prize-money for the Sapling Stakes.
