VALUES AT -MORRIXSVILLE AVERAGE BEEF YARDING DAIRY HEIFERS IN DEMAND The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports at its weekly Morrinsville stock sale on Friday an average yarding of ox beef, with the quality again first-class. The market was firm at late rates. Eight prime fat bullocks from Messrs. Howie Brothers, of Morrinsville, sold from £8 16s to £9 os. There was again a full yarding of cow and heifer beef with a good proportion of the offering comprising well-finished cattle. Good quality was in keen demand, while second quality and boners sold at equal to late ruling rates.

Only a small yarding of sheep came forward, the entry comprising a few pens of wethers with a small entry of fat lambs.' Late rates were maintained for fat sheep. 1 here was only one line of in-larob ewe 3, these being sound-mouth Bheep and in-lamb to Southdowns, for which a. run out was sold at 225.

There was a large offering of dairy cattle including a herd oL cows from the VTesi Coast district. L T nfortunately the majority of these cows were fairly backward, both in condition and also late cal.vers. Prices, therefore, were not as good as gome of those realised at clearing sales. Dairy heifers were in better demand and anything showing quality and close to profit realised satisfactory prices.

A smaller entry of fat pigs comprising mostly unfinished sorts, values on the whole being on a par with other sales. An average yarding of stores sold under better competition. Large stores in particular showed a marked improvement.

Dalgety and Company, Limited, reports that at its sale there was a medium yarding of cattle and a full yarding of sheep. The bulk of the sheep entry comprised 2000 fiveyear ewes ax Te Hau Station. Gisbome. These sheep landed in excellent condition and were an exceptionally good line. A total clearance was effected and the satisfactory price of 25s 6d was obtained for the line in different lots. Fat cows, fair to medium quality, £2 10s to £3 12s 6d; fleshy cow 3, 2os to 40s; boners, 18s to 245; light baconers. £2 ss; porkers. 335; rough three-year steers, £3 6s; bulls, £2 17s ajid £2 16s. At the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company's sale there was a goodsized and representative entry. Values remained stable. Forward-conditioned fat bullocks, £o 10s; good quality fat cows, £3 7s 6d to £3 16s; medium, £2 15s to £3 ss; plain quality, £2 7s 6d to £2 15s; fresh-conditioned young cows, £1 12s to £2 2s 6d; meaty stora cows. £1 9s to £1 lis; others, 16s to £1 4s; yearling Jersey heifers, £1 7s 6d. The advertised two-tooth wethers met with good inquiry and 270 forward quality made 19s; otner pens, 16s 2d to 17s 3d; pen. of twotooth breeding ewes, £1 Is.

CLEARING SALE AT WAHAROA The Farmers' Co-operativ«> Auctioneering Company, Limited, held a clearing sale on account of Mr. G-. Xewsome at Waharoa on Friday, when about 90 Jersey and Holstein cows in good condition were offered. Bidding was brisk for young early while later calvers were also in demand. Included in the offering was a number of springing Jersey heifers, for which competition was keen. A line of yearling heifers of good butter-fat backing was keenly sought. Limited, and Dalgety and Company, Limited, in conjunction report having held a satisfactory dispersal sale of dairy stock on behalf of Mr. D. G-. Forlong at Bunnythorpe on "Wednesday. The dairy stock, which was brought forward in splendid order, was submitted' to a large attendance of buyers atta met good competition. NGARUAWAHIA COMPETITION The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, held its monthly stock sale at Xgaruawahia on Friday, when & good yarding of all classes of cattle came forward. The advertised dairy herds attracted buyers from all parts of the district and sold under keen competition at firm rates. A medium yarding of beef also met with good competition. TE AWAMUTU YARDING Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held its three-weekly stock sale" at Te Awamutu on Thursday when a fair yarding of sheep came forward and sold steadily. Cattle were yarded in more than, average numbers, and here again bidding was brisk, the advertised line of 175 Polled Angus and Hereford steers averaging £5 7s 3d. SMALL GISBORNE YARDINGS [by telegraph OWN correspondent] GISBORNE, Saturday Yardings were small at Mafaw.&ero yesterday. The beef entry totalled. 35 Head, and contained nothing of Quality. Oply 160 fat sheep were ottered and little interest was taken in the sale. The market was easier. Ewes made 12s 9d to 13;! 9d and second grade ewes to 12s. A small, entry of 1570 store sheep was yarded and sold at' recent values.
