ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

CADET DIVISION'S PARADE

INSPECTION BY COMMISSIONER There was an attendance of 153, including 14 officers, at the parade of cadet divisions of the St. John Ambulance, held on Saturday afternoon. Ambulance and nursing cadets were present from 12 divisions, drawn from all parts of Auckland. The ambulance cadets were under Corps Officer E. K. Knight, and the nursing cadets under Lady Corps Officer E. McDowell. The parade assembled at the drill hall and marched to Princes Street, where a marching competition, judged by District Officer F. E. Schofield, was held. The contest resulted in the National Reserve Cadet Nursing and Kowhai Cadet Ambulance divisions tying for first place. The parade then returned to the drill hall, where it was inspected by the commissioner, Mr. C. J. Tunks, after which there was a march past, at which the commissioner took the salute. In a brief address Mr. Tunks expressed pleasure at the large attendance and congratulated the cadets on their smart turn out. Other senior officers present included the District Superintendent, Mr. A. W. Probert.
