HEARSE AS HOUSEBOAT
The story of a hearse which ended its days as a houseboat on the Estuary was told by the Mayor of Christchurch, Mr. D. (jr. Sullivan, M.P., when giving a lecture on the early, history of the Linwood district to members of the North Linwood Burgesses' Association Ho said that the hearse was included among the rolling stock of the horse tram service operated by the Chrjstchurch City Council, which served part of the Linwood district over 40 years ago. After Mr. Sullivan had finished his address a member of the association stated that the tram hearse had : not boon a popular vehicle, and had been used as such only once.,
