LIFE AND HEALTH
SOLUTION OF MYSTERIES CLAIM BY SCIENTIST . LONDON, May 2G It is claimed that a step toward solving the mysteries of life and death has been made, after ten years' research, by Professor Baly, of Liverpool University, says the Star. _" Plants absorb carbon dioxide from air and water and transform it into sugar in one process," Professor Baly said. "We have now discovered how the plant achieves the change and thereby have found the secret of the mechanism of the vital reaction of men and animals to health and disease, which hitherto has been a secret reaction associated with life itself.
"It is the first definite advance which may lead to the ultimate solution of life and death, and meanwhile may revolutionise medicine."
