MILITARY TRAINING

RECRUITING MAINTAINED EMPLOYERS AND CAMPS Remarking that recruiting for the territorial force was well maintained, the Minister of Defence, the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, who is visiting Auckland, said yesterday that the percentage of. enrolments to total establishment had improved. "Some of the arms of the force," added the Minister, "would receive a numerical impetus if all the employers could see their way to allow their men leave to attend parades and camps. "I was pleased to learn on my present visit to Auckland that one or two employers who seemed to be adamant in their resolve not to give their men leave, had, on reflection, decided to do so. The men will assuredly benefit by their military training; so will their employers, because there is nothing like military drill as a means of improving a man's physical fitness and alertness."
