FINANCES OF THE BOARD SATISFACTORY POSITION SHOWN [from oub own correspondent] TE AROHA. Tuesday A satisfactory position was disclosed by the annual report submitted at a meeting of the Thames Valley Power Board to-day. It was stated that the indications were favourable for an increased demand during the current year. A net profit of £3505 was shown on the past year's -operations, enabling reductions in charges to be given to the extent of £3150. The estimates for the current year, adopted by the board, were based on revenue of £122,518, and expenditure of £118,286, leaving an estimated credit balance of £4232 after taking into account reductions in charges. In the statutorv annual meeting, Mr. J. Price was re-elected chairman, and Mr. C. A. Arthur, deputy-chairman. The remuneration of the chairman was fixed at £IBO, the same as last year.
PROPOSAL FOR KAITAIA HYDRO-ELECTRIC SCHEME [BT" TEkBCRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] fea' -■ ' • KAITAIA, Tuesday " J. • •The final report of the consulting engineers regarding the proposed hydroelectric scheme for Kaitaia was considered at a meeting of the Kaitaia Town Board last night. The report recommended the Uwhiroa scheme with minor alterations from the original plan of development. The board decided to authorise the engineers to prepare the necessary plans both for the hydro-electric scheme and the proposed water supply for the town. They will be submitted to the Local Government Loans Board for approval.
