DEATH FROM EXPOSURE
ESCAPED MENTAL PATIENT [from oon OWN correspondent] PI7KEKOHE. Snturday A verdict that death was caused by exposure and secondary dementia, in accordance , with medical evidence, was returned bj' the district coroner, Mr. C. K. Lawrie, at the conclusion of the adjourned inquest to-day into the death of an inmate of the Kingscat Mental Hospital, aged 62, who was found dead after being missing for 10 days. The only witness heard to-day, Frederick Hanfling. a motor-lorry driver employed bv Mr. George Fletcher, of Patuniahoe, said he had discovered the man's body under a hedge on the Wniau Pa Itond on May 6. He had seen the man alive near the same spot on May 4.
