A WONDERFUL TONIC
A good cough mixture and wonderful tonic is as follows: —Take three newlaid eggs, place them whole in a basin. Then squeeze lemons on until covered with juice. After covering with a plate for four days, mash all together with a flat potato masher, then strain into another vessel. Mix together 3oz. honey, 2oz. sugar candy, crushed, half a pint best old rum, put into a bottle and cork. Keep in a cool place. A wine glassful should ho taken every morning, a smaller dose for children.
