TE AROHA AERO CLUB

OFFICERS FOR THE YEAR [from our own correspondent] TE AROHA, Friday The annual meeting of the Te Aroha Aero Club was held this week, the president, Mr. R. Coulter; presiding. The annual report referred to the regrettable accident in which Captain C. Waite lost his life. Arrangements were in progress to secure a lease of the landing ground. The most successful pageant and dance yet held Iby the club was that on the occasion of the visit of Miss Jean Batten last August. Owing to the heavy drain on the finances of the club, due to expenses incurred and donations made by the committee as a result of the Waihou accident, the balance shows a loss of £57. The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr. 11, Coulter; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. R. J. Jones B. L Orr, A. Waite, R. H. Galloway, R. C. Willis, N. Quirk, W. Mackie, G. P. Goodfellow and H. K. Whitechurch; club captain, Mr. R. J. Jones; vicecaptain, Mr. 11. F. Jones; honorary solicitor, Mr. G. H. Niche Ills; auditor, Mr. J. M. Cochrane; executive, Messrs. A. B. Ranby, L. C. Mackie, F. W. Firkin, 11. J- Jones, N. Quirk and R. F. Jones.
