FLOODS IN VICTORIA
TOWNSHIP ISOLATED HEAVY RAINS IN APRIL MELBOURNE, May 1 Heavy rain and rising river: have resulted in floods in Victoria. Tht greatest danger is in the valley of tht Yarra River. Flood waterii hav< isolated the township of War burton and have inundated homes, driving th< residents to higher ground. The rainfall in Melbourne in Apri was the heaviest recorded for 35 years Shipping in Port Phillip has been seriously hampered by the storm.
