WOMEN'S AUXILIARY
The annual meeting of the Mount Albert Women's Auxiliary was held at the Council Chambers yesterday morning. The Mayoress, Mrs. Ferner, presided. The officers for the year and the committee were returned unopposed as a tribute to the work accomplished by them, the Mayoress, Mrs. R. Ferner, speaking appreciatively of their efforts. The officers for the year arc:—Mrs. E. Smythe, president; Mrs. R. Ferner, (Mayoress), Mrs. M. Turner and Mrs. F. Mcßride, J.P., vice-presidents; Mrs. W. Weaver, secretary; Mrs. E. Whitwell, treasurer; Mrs. M. Tremain. Mrs. R. Piesker, Mrs. Andrews, Mrs. Heape, Mrs. A. Hawke, Mrs. Rout, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. R. Smithwich, Mrs. Barton, Miss L. Andrews, committee. Through the work of these ladies 1900 articles have been made: 300 parcels have been made up. 76 pairs of shoes h«ivc been given out, and ji special work of providing outfits of 36 expectant mothers has been accomplished. The president, Mrs. Smythe. thanked her helpers.
