KUMEU SHOW DANCE
CUP PRESENTATION The Kumeti District Agricultural and Horticultural Society held its annual cup presentation dance last week in the Kuuieu Hall. The hall was transformed with punga ferns, nikau palms and streamers of lycopodium interspersed with splashes of scarlet dahlias. Shaded lights of red and blue tied with the first and second prize ribbons added r.o a brilliant setting for the dance. During the evening, Mr. H. Meikle, president of the show, made the presentations of trophies. In his remarks he made special mention of the splendid work of the committee, which was responsible for a record show, also of that of the ladies' committee, the secretary, Mr. W. B. Patterson, and Mrs. Patterson.
After the presentations had been made the ladies' committee served an excellent supper and dancing was enjoyed until midnight. The success of the evening was largely due to the efforts of Mr. W. Couglan, who was in charge of the programme arrangements.
