VETERAN'S LONG RIDE
* A resident of Waverley, Mr. H. Pepper, who is 77 years of age, set out on horseback from home at 5 o clock on a recent morning to make a 60-niiles journey to see his daughter, Mrs, R. McMillan, To Popo. He arrived at his destination at 4.15 p.m. His sole refreshment on the way was a sandwich and a glass of ale. At the conclusion of his ride Mr. Pepper "was not a bit distressed and was out riding again next day.
