Abbott, of Epsom. Mrs. Gordon Reid, of Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. J. H. Frater, City Road. Miss Marie Spicier, of Devonport, is spending the Easter holidays in Whangarei. Miss Gwen Challis, of Great South Road, is staying at Milford for the Easter holidays. Miss J. Campbell, of Remuera Road, will return to Auckland to-day from a visit to Helensville. Mrs. Frank Jervis, of Wellington, is the guest of Miss Ivy Buddie, Victoria Avenue, Remuera. ' \ ~ Mrs. W. P. Endean, accompanied bv Mr. Endean, is the guest of Mrs. Hope Gibbons. Wanganui. Mrs. A. F. Clark, and Miss Betty Coleman, of Gisborne, are spending a holiday in Auckland. Mrs. W. A. Pilkington is visiting her daughter, Mrs. J. Smeeton Phillips, of Moumoukai Valley. Mrs. J. Armitage, of Mount Eden, and Miss Gwen Armitage, have left on a short visit to Helensville. Mrs. M. Glasgow, of MacMurrav Road, and Miss Helen Glasgow, are spending Easter at Milford. Mrs. Charles Joseph Nathan, of Hawke's Bay, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. A. Harwood, Haka-Nui. Wellsford. Mrs. W. V. Bremner, president of the Stanley Bay Croquet Club, has left to take part in the croquet tournament at Cambridge. Mrs. J. Todd, of Tokomaru Bay, !s spending Easter with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Nichol, Mount St. John Avenue, Epsom. Mrs. D. Duncan and Mrs. T. Somerville, Wellington, Mrs. C. Scott, Christchurch, and Mrs. Moncur, Tauranga, are at the Central Hotel. Miss A. Dennis, of Cashmere Hills, Canterbury, arrived in Auckland by the Rangitata, and will leave at the end of this week for Napier and Wellington^

Mrs. Kirkpatrick presided at a meeting of the Onehunga branch of the League of Mothers. A lecture on "Poetry in Motion " was given by Madame Edith Baird.
Mrs. T. H. Lowry, Hawke's Bay, Mrs. Waddell, Hamilton, Mrs. I. N. Masiterton and Mrs. C. A. Whyte, Hastings, Mrs. A. C. Hatrick, Sydney, and Misii F. Hart, Wellington, are at the Grand Hotel.
Mrs. L. Cusworth, of Stanley Bay, a member of the executive of the Auckland Croquet Association and secretary to the Stanley Bay Croquet Club, has left to take part in the croquet tournament in Cambridge.
A branch of the League of Mothers was formed in Whangarei last week. Mrs. D. L. Ross whs appointed secretary. An address on the league's work was given by Mrs. S. 0. English, of Auckland, provincial secretary. Mrs. Allan, provincial treasurer, was also present.

A very pleasant afternoon was spent on the St. Heliers Bay croquet lawns when Mrs. Lowe, the president, was entertained by the members of the club. Progressive croquet was played and at afternoon tea a presentation was made to Mrs. Lowe by Mrs. St. Clair Inglis on behalf of the members. Among those present were: —Mesdames Lowe, Inglis, Negus, Friar, Garrard, McGregor, Warren, Wynn Dunn, McKenzie, Burton, Brewer, Clarke, King, Russell, Cole, Moodie, Laslett (2), Goldsboro, Gisby, Wright, Porter, Bayliss, Boyce, Roberts and Miss 'Appleyard. Mrs. Clarke won the A trophy and Mrs. Roberts the B.
