VORACIOUS SHAG

A, shag caught by the winner of the competition organised by the Stratford Acclimatisation Society for the destruction of vermin, contained two trout, one llin. long and the other 14Jin. The society instituted the competition with a view to reducing the number of shags and vermin preying on liberated game, the winner being Mr. H. Ward, Mahoe, with a total of 78, including stoats, shags and hawks.
