ANNUAL DOMINION TOURNEY CALDERWOOD IN THE LEAD [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION"] DANNKVIRKE, Saturday The Dominion championship congress of the New Zealand Draughts Association was opened yesterday by the acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, and the Mayor of Dannevirke, Mr. D. Smith. There are 18 competitors from all parts of New Zealand. Results of yesterday's and to-day's play were as follows: First Round.—F. Steel, two draws from J. Shadbolt; F. Hutchins, win and draw against G. Duncan; C. Donald, win and draw with J. Bruce; J. R. Clark, win and draw against F. W. Graham; W. Redmayne and G. A. Brown (present champion), two draws; B. Calderwood (ex-champion), two wins from T. Gilhoolev; W. Davis, win and draw from Adair.

Second Hound. —Hutchins, two wins from Steel; Duncan, win and draw with Findlay; Gibson, two wins from Donald; Clark, win and draw from Bruce; Brown, two wins from Graham; Gilhooley and O'Malley, win each; Davis, win and draw against Johnston; Shadbolt, two wins from Adair. Gibbard (Dannevirke); president, Mr. P. C. Gray (Dnnedin); vice-presidents, Messrs. O'Malley (Dnnedin), W. J. Marsh (Wyndham) and D. Calderwood (Hamilton); central executive, Messrs. J. A. Lucas, P. J. Anderson, G. F: McCluskv, T. Rea, A. White, R, C. McMurray, R. Russell, R. Batting, W. Duncan, J. Bcecot, W. Meldrum and F. E. Hilliker. Dunedin was chosen as the venue for the 1936 Dominion congress.
