LONDON BUTTER OUTLOOK

GOOD CONSUMPTIVE DEMAND INFLUENCE OF. AMERICA LONDON, April 13 The butter market has shown some improvement lately. Prices hardened slightly under the influence of a good consumptive demand, but there is some doubt whether the position can be maintained much longer, as quantities afloat from Australia, New Zealand and Argentina exceed 1,314,000 boxes. Much depends upon whether America continues to buy Australian and New Zealand butter. DEMAND FOR WOOL HIGHER PRICES AT PERTH ANIMATED COMPETITION (Received April 15. 9.35 p.m.) PERTH, April 15 Wool prices advanced by 10 to 15 per cent at the final sale of the season to-day. Competition was animated and the clearances were exceptionally good. Bradford and Continental operators were the chief buyers. PORKER PIG SHIPMENTS SHORT-TERM RESTRICTION PRESENT KILLINGS WITHHELD All killings of porker pigs in New Zealand are now being held in store to await shipment to arrive in Great Britain after June 30. This is the outcome of the short-term for the second quarter of 1935. When restriction was imposed for the first quarter of 1935, killings from January 1 onward could not be shipped to arrive before March 31. The date fixed in the present case is March 31, according to a circular issued by the Meat Producers' Board. Shipments and stocks at that date were estimated to be sufficient to fill the quota fixed, and all killings after March 31 have to be held for arrival in Britain after June 30.
