FARMER'S FORTITUDE
LONG RIDE AFTER INJURY ROLLED ON BY HORSE Great fortitude was shown by Mr. C. A. Ashwin, aged 65, a farmer, of Kirkbride Road, Mangere, on Saturday afternoon, in completing a long ride after suffering a severe compound fracture of the .collarbone when his fell. Mr. Ashwin was driving cattle from Homai to Mangere, and near the start his horse reared and fell, rolling on him and fracturing his collarbone. Mr. Ashwin was assisted back on to his horse, and in spite of the pain from his injury continued the drive, delivering his cattle at their destination, about 11 miles awa>He then rode home and after receiving medical treatment, was taken io the Auckland Hospital.
