HOUSE BURNED DOWN
FAMILY'S HURRIED ESCAPE [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TE PUKE, Friday A house of five rooms, owned and occupied by Mr. A. Carter, farmer, of Pongakawa, To Puke, was destroyed by fire in the early hours of yesterday morning. When Mr. Carter awakened the back part of tho house was on fire. He, his wife and three children made a hurried escape in their night attire. Nothing was saved from the flames. The dwelling was insured for £!} so in the New Zealand Office.
