[from our own correspondent] (tISBORNE, Friday The annual meeting of the Poverty Bay Federation of Women's Institutes was held to-day. Sister May Gardiner, of Nuhaka, presiding pver an attendance of from 200 to 300 delegates from all parts of Gisborno and the coast districts. A welcome was extended by the president to Mrs. H. Pater ion, of Pahiatua, president of the New Zealand of Women's Institutes. The annual report showed that during the past year the movement had grown vigorously as was shown by the fact that in April, 1934, there were 31 women's institutes in this federation with a membership -of 1463. There are now 37 with an approximate membership of 1547.
