HIGH-PRICED STOCK After a long period of quarantine 1? an d then in New Zealand, the Southdown ram, F or d Christian, bred by Messrs. John Langmead and Sons, passed into the hands of his purchasers, Sir William Perry and Mr. 11. M. Perry, of Masterton. At the recent Masterton Show, Ford Christian, although just out of quarantine, was placed on exhibition and aroused the admiration of the leading Southdown brooders. Ford Christian was an outstanding winner in England and his first progeny, in the Old Country also met with outstanding success, one of his sons being the best winner of his nge in England, winning at no less than nine English Shows including the Royal and winning the championship at Tunbndge Wells over the older rams, in the autumn. In view of his success at the stud in England Sir William Perry was keenly looking forward to the frival of Ford Christian in New Zealand, but in the meantime secured the option over his outstanding son from his breeders. Ab the result of the great impression made by Ford Christian after his*arrival in Now Zealand, Sir William Perry has now instructed Messrs. Wright Stephenson and Company, Limited, who secured Ford Christian for him in England to complete the purchase and arrange shipment to New Zealand of his son.
