BRITISH LEGION
"EMPLOYMENT WEEK" INAUGURATION BY PRINCE APPEAL TO THE EMPLOYERS CAUSE OF EX-SERVIGEMEN By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received March 21, 6.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, March 20 The Prince of Wales inaugurated at the Mansion House the British Legion's " employment week," the object of which is to induce employers to take on more unemployed exservicemen. Addressing a gathering of prominent people His Royal Highness said he appreciated all that the employers had d<»ne already to absorb ex-servicemen, but unfortunately there were still many thousands out of work. He hoped these men would be given their share in the economic revival. Last year, said the Prince, the British Legion had filled 46,000 vacancies and he hoped, with the assistance of municipal and local authorities and private employers of labour, that there would be a big increase in this number in the King's silver jubilee year.
