LEAGUE FOOTBALL
THE PAPAKURA CLUB FURTHER PROGRESS SHOWN ; A successful season last year was reviewed in the v report presented at the . annual meeting of the Papakura .Rugby League Football Club. The club entered five teams in the Auckland Rugby League'jr competitions. last season and membership increased from 70 to -about 100 players. In y. addition, there were 29 honorary members; In attendance at the meeting were Messrs. D. Wilkie, chairman of the junior control board, and I. Stonex, a member of the . board representing the Auckland Rugby League. Mr. Wilkie said ihe Papakura Club, as runners-up in the Davis Shield for the club with the best aggregate,. had proved itself the best junior olub in the j league, as ihe trophy had been won by the premier senior club, Richmond. The Papakura second grade team had also won the Wright Cup in the knock-out championship. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £7 on the year's working. The following officers were elected:—Patron, Mr. E. C. Foote; president, Mr. S. H. Godden; vice-presidents, Messrs. H. A. Pollock, L. McVeigh, R. Lanigan, C. H. Chamberlain and C. N. Spencer: club captain, Mr. W. Cornthwaite; executive, Messrs. / G. Wilson, J. Grey, L. McVeigh, H. A. Pollock and C. N. Spencer: treasurer, Mr. R. Walsh; social committee, Messrs. I. R;Wilson, E.
