WEDDING

WELCH—GRIFFITHS St. Luke's Anglican Church, Rotorua, was the scene of a pretty wedding recently, when Vera Elizabeth Margaret, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Griffiths, of Rotorua, was married to Kenneth Rowland, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Welch, of Ohinewai, Waikato. The officiating minister was the Rev. R. Hodgson, and Miss M. Mactier played the wedding music. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a beautiful gown of ivory Chantilly lace cut on classical lines, the skirt flaring gracefully from the knees and falling into a deep train at the back. The corsage was V-shaped and outlined on one side with a trailing design in satin flowers, continuing over the shoulder and finishing at the centre back. The long tight-fitting sleeves were finished at a point over each wrist. A halo of seed pearls and orange blossom held the Honiton lace veil in place, and she carried a shower bouquet of pastel rose buds. The bridesmaid, Miss Doria Griffiths, sister of the bride, wore a picturesque frock of primrose flowered ninon, fashioned on princess lines, with two cascade frills falling from the centre of the back to form a train. T he semi-cowl neckline was caught by a diamante ornament and frilled epaulettes outlined the shoulders. A bandeau of fresh gladioli was worn in her hair, and she carried a sheaf of gladioli in the same tonings as her gown The best man was Mr. D. Grant, of Hamilton, and the ushers Messrs. I.
