TWO THEFT CHARGES

POLICE COURT REMANDS Two theft charges were laid in the Police Court yesterday. A painter, Kenneth Leslie Brunton, aged 23 (Mr. Singer), was charged with breaking and entering by day the house of Horace Claude Gregory at 30 Remuera Road and stealing silverware, jewellery and clothing valued at £BB 7s. The date of the alleged offence was February 7. On the application of Detective-Ser-geant McHugh, accused was remanded until Monday. Bail was by Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., at £2OO. A charge of breaking and entering by day the house of Amy May Hutchinson, in Gillies Avenue, on February 4, and stealing jewdlery and other articles, valued at £lB 7s, was preferred against Joseph Reuben Clark, fruiterer, aged 32 (Mr. Aeltins). Accused was also remanded until Monday.
