FARMERS' UNION BRANCH
Brookbv. —At the February meeting a musical competition was hold, Mrs. Bodle being the winner, and Mrs. Stirling second. Recitations were contributed bv Miss Moody, and Mrs. Bodle sang. Tlio roll call was hints in preserving fruit and jam-making. A talk on garden was given by Mrs. Bodle. Ardmore. —Owing to unfavourable weather the picnic, which had been planned, had to bo abandoned and the meeting was held in the hall. Luncheon was served to members and visitors, and after a short general meeting competitions and games were enjoyed. Brigham's Creek. —The first birthday of this branch was celebrated this month. Visitors were welcomed from Olovedon, Taupaki and Riverhead. Mrs. M. G. Orr, provincial vice-president, and Miss Orr were also present. Two one-act plays were given by members of the social committee. Mrs. Dunlop sang. Mrs. Hutchinson and Mrs. Kennedy each received a small prize for regular attendance at the meetings. The president was complimented on her work for the year and on the way in which the branch had grown. Bouquets were presented to Mrs. Orr. Mrs. Proude, Mrs. Shaw and Mrs. Dunlop. Afternoon tea was served and a beautifully decorated cake was cut by the president.
