Mrs. W. A. Newton, St. Heliers Bay, will return this week from the south.
Mrs. Bruce Mackenzie, Princes Street, returned yesterday from a visit to the South Island.
Mrs. Fred Anderson, Richmond Road, Ponsonby, is spending a holiday in Whangarei.
Mrs. G. Livingstone and Mrs. H. E. Maud, Takapau, Hawke's Bay, are at the Central Hotel.
Mrs. T. Goodfellow and Miss Elaine Goodfellow, Golf Road, Epsom, left yesterday for Taupo.
Miss Margery Dryden, Takapuna, will leave Wellington by the Ruahine on April 1 to visit England.
Miss Jean Black, Nelson, who has been on a visit to Auckland, returned by motor to the South yesterday.
Mrs. Athol Murison, Ohakune, is the guest of her mother, Mrs. A. G. Graham, Seaview Road, Remuera.
Mrs. H. T. Loomans, Motutapu, Mrs. Townsend and Mrs. Warhurst, Kempsev, New South Wales, are at Cargen Hotel.
Miss Jean Taylor, Wanganui, and Mrs. R. Stewart, Timaru, are guests of Mrs. Garfield Stewart, Lake Road, Takapuna.
Mrs. D. A. Burt, who has been staying in Remuera for the summer, has returned, with her family, to Audrey Road, Milford.
Mrs. Jules Brendel, who has been staying at Takapuna for the past two years, has taken up her residence at the Titirangi Hotel.
Mrs. Percy Thomson and Miss Ray Thomson, who have been staying at their summer house at Milford, have returned to Remuera Road.

An enjoyable bridge party was given on Tuesday evening as the opening event of the Garrick Repertory Theatre at the club room, Warwick Chambers. A large number of members and their friends ettended. The hostess was Mrs. B. Kissin. During the supper interval two songs were contributed by Mrs. McCall.
At a meeting of the St. George's branch of the Mothers' Union, Mrs. J. L. Litt was elected enrolling member and Mrs. S. Harrison secretary. A spray of asters and zinnias was presented by Mrs. Litt to Mrs. H. B. Morton, ■who will be leaving shortly for a holiday in England. A grant was voted to the Mayor's fund for crippled children.
The Northcote branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union held a meeting in. the Methodist school room. Miss Piper presiding. A reading on "The Shortcomings of Alcohol as a Food" from Dr. R. B. Richardson's Temperance Lesson Book, was given. Mrs. Martin spoke on the effect of alcohol on the blood. Two names were secured for the Little White Ribboners branch.
'A social, held at the Higher Thought Centre under the management of Mr. and Mrs. Dickens, proved an enjoyable and well-attended function. A- colourful array of flowers added a bright note, and the evening was spent in dancing, games and competitions. Vocal items were rendered by Miss Mathews, and Mrs. Probert gave a mandolin solo. The music was provided by Mrs. McCune, Messrs. Barrington and Preston.
