THE LABOUR PARTY
CITY EAST BRANCH The annual meeting of the Auckland East branch of the New Zealand Labour Party was held on Tuesday. Mr. Bernard Martin presiding over a good attendance. The balance-sheet showed a satisfactory financial position and the annual report referred to the harmony characterising the activities of the year. Votes of thanks were passed to Mr. F. W. Schramm, M.P., and Mr. H. A. Gustafson for their services. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. JL Martin; vice-presi-dents.. Messrs. C. S. Morris and J. Sayegh; committee, Messrs. G. G. Grant, H. A. Gustafson, G. H. Wilkinson, J. W. Yarnall and the Rev. MM. Dreaver;.. honorary secretary, Mr. G. F. Hartley; delegate to the Labour Representation Committee. Mr. J. Sayegh; deputy-delegate, Mr. G. G. Grant.
