NORTHERN GROUP MEETINGS At a meeting of the Kaukapakapa branch of the Waitemata provincial executive (northern group) of the Women's Division ..of the Farmers Union, reports of the Waitemata and Dominion executive meetings were read and discussed. It was decided to donate £2 10s to Wellington for the Community Chest. A " bulb exchange " had been organised and proved very popular, many plants and bulbs being sold, the money thus resulting being handed over for the benefit of the branch. Mrs. Osbaldiston presided. Makarau. —A meeting of the Makarau branch was held at the residence of Mrs. E. R. Dunn. A " bring and buy " sale in aid of branch funds realised a sum of £l2 2s. Winners in a competition were Mrs. Hjorth, Tangawahine, Mrs. T. W. Hooper and Miss E. Hooper, the two later being equal. Taupaki.—A competition for the champion dahlia was held by the branch and was won by Mrs. Nicholson. A letter from Mrs. Wardle, a former member, describing a visit to Australia and ship life on the way to England was read.
